Personally, I think folding the elastic band gives it much more of a Y2K vibe haha. Even the cut lines on the back are perfect... I love it.
I was extremely satisfied because it covers everything from effortless chic to over-the-top chic.
Plus, it has incredible stretch, so you can wear it comfortably.
Personally, it was huge for me, so the pants kept sliding down (168/50)
For those with very thin lower bodies, I think you can just tighten the band really tight.
